The VFB Stuttgart 1893 e.V., better known as VFB Stuttgart, was founded on September 9, 1893 in Stuttgart, southern Germany. Since then, great players such as Jürgen Klinsmann, Matthias Sammer, Giovane Élber, Mario Gómez, Sami Khedira and Timo Hildebrand have worn the red and white shirt.
The most glorious era for the team was during the 50s, when the team won 2 Bundesliga (1950, 1952) and 2 German Cup (1954, 1958). During the decade 1989-1998 the team lived another golden age, won 1 Bundesliga (1992), 1 German Cup (1997) and was runner-up of the UEFA Europa League (1989) and the UEFA Cup Winners Cup (1998).

The Merdeces Benz Arena stadium, formerly known as Neckarstadion and Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion, opened on July 23, 1933 and currently it has a capacity of 60.000 spectators. It hosts all the VFB Stuttgart matches and is located northeast of the German city of Stuttgart. The Mercedez-Benz-Arena has also been the venue of great events such as the 1974 FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Euro 1988 and the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
