The Villarreal Club de Fútbol, better known as Villarreal or popularly known as the yellow submarine, was founded on March 10, 1923. The Estadio de la Ceramica, historically known as El Madrigal, was inaugurated on June 17, 1923 and currently it has a capacity of 23.500 spectators. It is located next to Plaza Llaurador, in down town of Villarreal.

It is the venue of all Villarreal CF matches, where have been hosted La Liga, Copa del Rey, UEFA Europa League and Champions League matches. Also the Spain National Team has played some friendly home matches in this stadium.
