The Athletic Club, better known as Athletic de Bilbao or Athletic, was founded in 1898 and together with FC Barcelona and Real Madrid it is the only spanish team that has played every season in the first division. Is also the fourth team in Spain with more leagues in his trophy record, with a total of 8 leagues and the second team with more Copa del Rey just behind FC Barcelona. One of the main characteristics of the club is that since 1912 only players who have been born in the Basque Country can wear the Athletic shirt, making it even more meritorious to have been able to win titles and always be in the first division.

Information about San Mamés stadium

The San Mames stadium was inaugurated on September 16, 2013, replacing the old San Mames stadium. The new stadium has a capacity of 53.000 spectators and is located in the center of Bilbao, next to the Nervión River.

UEFA awarded it with Category 4 and could thus host in the future EUROS and finals of the Europa League. The new stadium of San Mames will be one of the 13 venues of the EURO 2020.
