Real Sociedad move up to fifth after 5-2 win at Málaga

Real Sociedad produced the latest result of their season on Sunday, October 18, beating Málaga CF 5-2 at La Rosaleda in LaLiga. Takefusa Kubo opened the scoring, Orri Óskarsson added a second, and Mikel Oyarzabal struck twice before Gonçalo Guedes completed the victory.

The three points moved Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side to fifth place with 16 points after nine LaLiga matches. The result followed a 1-1 draw away to Union Saint-Gilloise in the UEFA Europa League on October 15, where Beñat Turrientes scored before a late equaliser denied Real Sociedad victory.

The team’s next confirmed fixture is another European away match. Real Sociedad face Lillestrøm SK on Thursday, October 22, at 21:00 at Åråsen Stadion in matchday three of the UEFA Europa League league phase. It is the earliest scheduled fixture currently listed for the first team.
