Manchester City face Brighton in the EFL Cup after Villa defeat

Manchester City’s latest official match ended in a 2-1 defeat away to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday, 24 October 2026. The result came at Villa Park and is the club’s most recent completed fixture.

The next match is already confirmed for Wednesday, 28 October, when Manchester City host Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round of the EFL Cup. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30 GMT at the Etihad Stadium, making this the club’s next fixture by chronological date.

Brighton will visit Manchester again on Saturday, 31 October, for a Premier League fixture, but the midweek cup tie comes first. The two matches offer supporters separate opportunities to see Enzo Maresca’s side at home during a busy week of domestic football.
