RB Leipzig beat Elversberg 4-0 before DFB-Pokal trip to Essen

RB Leipzig followed their difficult week with a clear 4-0 victory over SV Elversberg in the Bundesliga on Saturday, October 24. All four goals came after half-time, with Tidiam Gomis opening the scoring before Rômulo added two and Christoph Baumgartner completed the win.

The result gave RB Leipzig a clean sheet and another home victory at the Red Bull Arena. Rômulo’s brace was particularly notable, while Baumgartner marked his return to the starting lineup with a goal. The performance also provided a positive response after the club’s recent away defeat to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

The next officially confirmed fixture is on Tuesday, October 27, when RB Leipzig travel to face Rot-Weiss Essen in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. Kick-off is scheduled for 18:00 at Stadion an der Hafenstraße. The cup tie comes before the next Bundesliga match, an away meeting with Schalke 04 on Saturday, October 31.
