The Ballspiel-Verein Borussia 1909 e.V. Dortmund, better known as Borussia Dortmund, was founded on December 19, 1909. Some of the best players in football history such as Augus Lenz, Andreas Möller, Manfred Burgsmüller, Matthias Sammer, Robert Lewandowski, Marcos Reus, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Ousmane Dembélé have dressed the black and yellows shirt. The glorious era of the team was in the period 1995-2002 when the club won 3 times the Bundesliga, 2 times the German Super Cup and it reached to win its first and only UEFA Champions League and Intercontinental Cup (1997). It is also the second team that has won more times the Bundesliga, only behind Bayern Munich.
For reasons of closeness, the eternal rival of Borussia Dortmund is Schalke 04, with whom he disputes the Revierderby. He also has a historic rivalry with Bayern Munich for being one of his main rivals in the Bundesliga, disputing each year the German clasico or Der Klassiker.
Information about Signal Iduna Park
The Signal Iduna Park stadium, formerly known as Westfalenstation, opened on April 2, 1974 and is located in Dortmund. It is the largest stadium in Germany, currently it has a capacity of 81,000 spectators. Apart from hosting all the Borussia Dortmund matches, it was also the venue for some matches of the 1974 and 2006 FIFA World Cup.
