Information about SC Freiburg

The Sport Club Freiburg e.V., better known as SC Freiburg or simply Freiburg, was founded on May 30, 1904. Since then great players like Harry Decheiver, Uwe Wassmer, Aleksandr Borodiuk, Nils Petersen, Papiss Demba Cissé or Julian Schuster have dressed the red and black shirt.

The most glorious era for the team was during the 90s, when it was promoted for the first time in its history to the first division (1994). The year of its debut in the Bundesliga was third, just 3 points behind the champion, Borussia Dortmund, something historic in the competition. This allowed him to play the UEFA Europa League the following year (1996).
