Manchester City's next Champions League home game is on sale, though not yet to everyone. Tickets for the visit of AEK Athens to the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, October 20 are currently available to season ticket holders and members who meet the club's purchase criteria.
The fixture is City's home game on Matchday 3 of the league phase, with an 8pm kick-off UK time. AEK are back at this level of European football and will bring a loud travelling support, while City need home wins to keep themselves among the top eight sides who skip the play-off round.
According to the club's match page, the sale is open to Season Ticket Holders and to Premium, Matchday and Junior Members who held that membership as of August 27 and who have previously bought a match ticket at the Etihad. Each eligible supporter can buy up to four tickets. The club has not listed standard ticket prices on the page.
Two other options are open to everyone. City's bar experiences for the game start at 90 pounds, and hospitality starts at 160 pounds. There is also a 20 percent discount on hospitality for supporters who book any two eligible Champions League home fixtures together in the City Hall or Crossbar suites.
All of this is sold on Manchester City's official website. If you do not hold a membership, you can compare current listings for Manchester City vs AEK Athens at the Etihad on Infotickets.
Some advice if you are trying for this game. The purchase-history rule is the one that catches people out: a new membership on its own does not unlock the sale, so check your account status before you count on a ticket. If you are bringing a group, buy together in a single transaction, because seats bought separately will almost never be side by side. And keep an eye on the club's ticket exchange in the week of the match, when season ticket holders who cannot attend release their seats.
Midweek group games against less familiar opponents are often the easiest route into the Etihad for a European night. For anyone who has wanted to see City in the Champions League without paying knockout-round prices, this is the kind of fixture to target.
