How to get to Artemio Franchi Stadium

  • Train: Campo di Marte 🚆

    Campo di Marte station — 400m from the stadium entrance (~5 min walk).

    Trenitalia local services from Santa Maria Novella (SMN): ~8 min, every 15–20 min. Quickest and most comfortable option.

  • Bus 🚌

    Bus 17 from Piazza San Marco to San Gervasio/Carnesecchi — 17 min, every 15 min. Standard matchday bus from city centre.

    Bus 10, 11, 20, 3 also serve the stadium area from different parts of Florence.

  • On Foot 🚶

    30 min walk from the Duomo through the San Marco district and along Viale Lavagnini.

    A pleasant option before evening matches in good weather — Florence is compact and walkable.

  • Car / Taxi 🚕

    Taxi from Santa Maria Novella or the Duomo: ~4–6 min, €9–12.

    Limited street parking on Viale Fanti and surrounding streets. Car not recommended on matchdays.

Important information — Artemio Franchi Stadium

✓ Arrival time: Gates open 90 min before kick-off. The Campo di Marte train is the quickest option — services run every 15–20 min from Santa Maria Novella.

✓ Architectural masterpiece: Designed by Pier Luigi Nervi and opened in 1931, the Franchi is one of the finest examples of 20th-century sports architecture in Italy. It hosted the 1934 World Cup and 1960 Olympics. A trip to La Viola is as much a cultural experience as a sporting one.

✓ Open design: The Franchi has a partly open structure — bring a light jacket as it can be windy, especially during evening matches in spring or autumn.

✓ Documentation required: Ticket + valid photo ID. Tickets sold via Ticketmaster and VivaTicket — buy online in advance.

✓ Prohibited items: No large bags, professional cameras or drones. No cloakrooms on site.
