Euro 2028 qualifying draw confirmed for Belfast on 6 December

The next major milestone for Euro 2028 is now confirmed: the qualifying draw will take place at Belfast’s International Convention Centre on Sunday, 6 December 2026. The draw will determine the groups for the qualification campaign and set the route towards the final tournament.

UEFA’s qualifying format places the participating teams into 12 groups of four or five, with matches played home and away. The group stage is scheduled to begin in March 2027 and finish in November 2027. Group winners will qualify directly, while runners-up may qualify directly or enter play-offs involving teams from the UEFA Nations League. Any play-offs are scheduled for March 2028.

The final tournament will be played from 9 June to 9 July 2028 across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Matches are scheduled for Cardiff, Dublin, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and London, with Wembley Stadium selected for the final.

UEFA has confirmed that official Tickets will not go on sale until after the final tournament draw, expected in December 2027, when the group-stage fixtures are known.
