Location and Access to Allianz Arena — FC Bayern München
Address: Werner-Heisenberg-Allee 25, 80939 Munich, Germany — located in the Fröttmaning district in the north of Munich, approximately 11 km from the city centre (Marienplatz). One of the most iconic and recognisable stadiums in world football, home to FC Bayern München since 2005.
How to get to Allianz Arena
-
U-Bahn (Metro) 🚇
Line U6: Fröttmaning station — 10 min walk to the stadium.
Direct from Munich city centre (Marienplatz ~20 min, Hauptbahnhof ~18 min). On matchdays, U6 trains run at very high frequency — this is by far the easiest option.
⚠️ On matchdays, only U6 is permitted to stop at Fröttmaning — no other lines serve the stadium.
-
Bus 🚌
Bus X36 runs as a matchday express service from Kieferngarten (U6 terminus) directly to the stadium.
Regular bus services are limited in this area — the U6 is always the preferred option for matchdays.
-
From the Airport ✈️
Munich Airport (MUC) is approximately 28 km from the stadium.
Take the S1 or S8 S-Bahn to Marienplatz, then U6 to Fröttmaning. Total journey: ~60–70 min.
Taxi from airport: ~35–45 min, €55–70 depending on traffic.
-
Car 🚕
Access via Autobahn A9 (exit München-Fröttmaning) or A99. Large car parks available around the stadium (pre-booking strongly recommended).
⚠️ Severe traffic congestion on matchdays — arrive at least 90 minutes before kick-off. The U6 is strongly recommended over driving.
