Real Madrid have set out exactly how tickets will be released for their next Champions League home game. The visit of RB Leipzig to the Santiago Bernabeu is being sold in five stages over a single week, ending with a general sale on Friday, October 9.
The match is on Wednesday, October 21 at 9pm, on Matchday 3 of the league phase. Leipzig are awkward opponents for anyone, quick on the break and comfortable away from home, and Madrid will want maximum points from their home fixtures to stay in the top eight places that lead straight to the round of 16.
The club's calendar runs as follows. Season ticket holders had first access from Friday, October 2 at 10am. Members affected by UEFA seat requirements followed on Monday, October 5 at 10am, and members without a season ticket on Tuesday, October 6 at 10am. Madridista Platinum and Premium cardholders can buy from Thursday, October 8 at 8am. Whatever remains goes to the general public on Friday, October 9 at 8am, and stays on sale until the stadium is sold out.
Prices start at 100 euros for seats in the fourth amphitheatre behind the goals, and standard seats run up to 275 euros depending on the section. Club members receive a 30 percent discount, and VIP tickets start at 375 euros.
All of these sales take place on Real Madrid's official website. If you would rather look at what is available across the stadium in one place, you can also check current listings for Real Madrid vs RB Leipzig at the Bernabeu on Infotickets.
Some practical advice for the general sale. Be on the site before 8am Madrid time, because the cheapest end-zone seats are the first to go. Have your account created and your payment details ready the night before, so you are not typing a card number while the seat map empties. And look carefully at the fourth amphitheatre if price is your priority: it is high, but the rebuilt stadium has kept sightlines clean from the upper tiers.
European nights at the Bernabeu sell themselves. The difference this time is that the club has told everyone, in advance, the hour at which their turn comes.
